It is an easy to install desktop unit sporting four U-Interfaces and eight S/T-Interfaces. Just as a basic NT1 it provides the link between ISDN Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and Central Office switching equipment. It converts the two-wire U-Interface that comes from the telephone company into a four-wire S/T-Interface but unlike a single NT1 the it is capable of managing four BRI’s and providing 512Kbps data transmission for Video Conferencing applications.
